Hello all, my name is Kenneth Wayne Linford (but I go by Wayne) and I currently live in Provo, Utah.
I am originally from a suburb outside of Las Vegas, called Henderson. I am currently engaged to the love of my life Autumn Lorimer. We met at BYU our freshamn year and have been friends ever since. We are getting married on May 5th, 2006 in the Manti Temple. She is awesome and I cannot wait to spend eternity with her.

Whats Happening?
Sunday May 29, 2005:I know it has been a while since I last updated my site, but I have been quite busy. This past week the rest of the summer staff arrived. The first few days of the week we had training, and let me tell ya, it is boring, but it is still better than staining so I cannot complain. We then had Glenn projects on Thursday and Friday. Youth conferences were up this week as well. It was fun working the youth and facilitating Aspen Follies with them. Bishop Hugh was with one of the groups that was up here. For all of you who are thinking to yourself, “Who in the Sam Hill is this Bishop Hugh?”, he was my bishop when I was a young lad. I have not seen him since I was like 14. He was the greatest. On Saturday I met up with Jared McKenzie and Nathan to go to dinner at PF Changs. After that we went to watch “The Longest Yard”. I didn’t like it at all. We then went to Wal-Mart and I purchased some much needed items. For Sunday we had Fast and Testimony meeting here at the grove. The meeting went really good.
Sunday May 22, 2005:Well, I am back from Las Vegas and let me tell ya, it is good to be back. Even though I was only gone for five days, sometimes it seemed like an eternity. It was so hot down there. I felt like my skin was going to catch on fire and melt everytime I stepped outside. When I got into a vehicle, I thought that I was going to be suffocated by the heat. Needless to say, it was hot. I was glad to come back to Aspen Grove.
Wednesday May 18, 2005:Well, I am off for Las Vegas in a few hours. May crew is over for me and honestly, I can’t complain. I don’t know if I will have access to a computer or an internet connection so I probably will not have an update until I get back on Sunday.
Tuesday May 17, 2005:This morning we had eggs, waffles and hash browns. I then shoveled some snow because it snowed yesterday. I then helped Greg fix the showers outside the swimming pool. For lunch we had steak, and it was fantastic. After lunch I had the privilege of buffing the swimming pool. I tried using the buffer for a bit, but you should have seen me. I was a joke trying to control this buffer. It kept throwing me from one end of the pool to another. Finally Robert came and took over and he took over for me and made it look easy. He had experience cleaning carpets before so he knew what he was doing. I then cleaned some rooms in Aspen Lodge and helped set up some speakers in the Amphitheater. Steve Pfost brought up my scooter so now I can putt putt around camp a little more easily. For dinner we had stroganoff and it was pretty good.
Monday May 16, 2005:I was a little tired waking up this morning but I soon got over it. Craig, Chelsea, Maggie and I cleaned some rooms in Aspen Lodge. We then went to Aspen Lawn and cleaned the horseshoe pit and then put up the blue tent. For lunch we had tacos and they were great. After lunch we moved some stuff off of the amphitheater stage and moved some tables from the arts and crafts room to the dining hall. I then set up a karaoke machine and that was pretty much it. I then watched CSI at the Harts.
Sunday May 15, 2005:I went to bed last night at 1:00am and woke up at 12:00 (go ahead and count it, that is 11 hours). Yup, it felt good. I then went to Nate’s ward and it was fun times. We then swung past Jeremiah’s place so that we could pick up Jeremiah and Kelly. We then drove up to Sandy and had dinner with the fam. We had Spaghetti and I liked it a lot. I then drove back up to Aspen Grove and called it a night.
Saturday May 14, 2005:This morning I had to wake up at 7:15 to go to work. I know, I know, you are thinking, “but Wayne, why are you working on a Saturday”. Well, they needed help today and I am going to Vegas next week for a few days so I need the extra hours. We spent the entire day staining gamily lodges A, B, C, and D. I smelled like gasoline. They should make a mens fragrance after that stuff.
Friday May 13, 2005:Well I was a bit tired today, but not too bad. All this morning we set up highball. We got both apparatuses set up by lunch. For lunch we had soup, salad and chicken. It was great. After lunch, Marty, Darren, DH and I stained family lodge B. That takes a long time. I then took off to the valley to go meet my family in Provo. We hung out for a while and then we went to Los Hermanos Mexican Restaurant. It was really good. I did not get back until late and now I am very tired.
Thurday May 12, 2005:Well, I tried to go to bed early last night, but all the guys here in snowshoe decided to talk about everything that is going on in camp. I was tired, but it was pretty fun, we have a good group of guys this year. For breakfast we had French Toast. After breakfast, I had to fix a flat tire on one of the vans and then we moved a bunch of stuff from the Huish to the Arts and Crafts building. Craig, DH, and I then started setting up highball right up until lunch. For lunch we had nachos. After lunch we continued to set up highball. While setting it up, I hit my head really hard on a bar, dang it hurt. Craig and I then cleaned the bathrooms. I got off work at 6pm because we did not have to start work until 9am.
Wednesday May 11, 2005:This morning I was very tired. For breakfast we had waffles; not good waffles, but the frozen ones that don’t taste that good. I was grateful for the meal, but I didn’t eat too much. After breakfast, Marty and I put brand new shower curtain rods in the family lodges. For lunch we had enchiladas and they were fantastic. After lunch Marty and I finished installing the shower curtain rods. I then got off at 3pm because I worked extra hours on Monday.
Tuesday May 10, 2005:This morning we had scrambles eggs and hash browns. After breakfast we cleaned the Emerald Dining hall. Craig, Chelsea, Maggie and I cleaned family lodges C &D. For lunch we had an awesome salad and chicken. After lunch Maggie and I cleaned the main bathrooms, the bathrooms on the 2nd floor of Aspen and the bathroom in Emerald. We then started cleaning the rooms on the 4th floor and then Robert and Evelyn came and helped us finish. I then put a slide on the ship playground with David Cook. For dinner we had chicken fried steak. After dinner Maggie and I went to the Huish and watched Heavyweights. It was very funny and made me think of Jared.
Monday May 9, 2005:I had dish room duty today but I forgot and I felt bad for missing it. For breakfast we had eggs and cream of wheat. I did not eat any, I just had cereal and yogurt. After Beth and I cleaned up the dishes, Craig and I put up the volleyball nets and finished the benches in the Amphitheater. We then went to the pool to set up the storage shed. For lunch we had roast beef and it was leftovers so it was not so good. Craig and I finished the shed after lunch and then put away some of the closing show equipment and then painted and “wanted poster” picture platform. I then went to Aspen to help them clean. For dinner we had some broccoli casserole and I thought it was pretty good.
Sunday May 8, 2005:This morning I woke up at 8:30am and everyone else pretty much took off for church. I decided to go to Nate’s church and it did not start until 3:00 so I pretty much just sat around and read my scriptures like a good boy. Nate’s ward was pretty cool and afterwards we went to Sandy to hang out with Rachael and her family for mother’s day. We ate roast beef and it was really good. Nate and I played with Matthew and Kenzie most of the night. Afterwards I came back to Aspen Grove and Maggie Hansen from Payson and I looked at pictures on my laptop all night.
Saturday May 7, 2005:I slept this morning until 8:30am. I tried to sleep in some more but couldn’t. For most of the day I dinked around and didn’t do too much. I studied my LSAT book and then played some card game with Jim and Kim. It was really fun. After lunch I went into the dish room and helped them clean up. Everyone then went to the valley except Maggie and me. We then learned a cool way to fold shirts and then made online quizzes for each other. We then met up with Beth and David Cook and went down and shot arrows at the ball field. I was shooting mine straight up in the air and watching them come down, it was pretty captivating. I accidentally shot one a little too far away and it hit the top of the ball field pavilion. We assessed the situation and I was luck that no damage was done. We then ate dinner (leftovers) and then DH, Michael, Peter, David Cook, Beth, Maggie and I watched Robin Hood (the cartoon) and Napoleon Dynamite in the Huish.
Friday May 6, 2005:For breakfast we had French toast and cereal. After breakfast David Cook, Chris and I cut some more metal for those benches. We finished all but two arms before lunch. For lunch we had pizza and salad. After lunch Chris and I finished the benches and then we set up the miniature golf course. It started raining a bit while we were doing this so we got soaking wet. For dinner we had left-overs. I was a bit disappointed, but it was still good. After dinner we sat around in the lobby and vegged. I got really tired around 10pm so I went to bed (first time I did that on a Friday in a long time).
Thursday May 5, 2005:For breakfast we had eggs that had sausage and all sorts of good stuff in it. Craig and I spent the morning setting up the tennis nets. We only had to work until 10am because we worked Camie’s wedding in the evening. We spent the rest of the morning talking about politics and whatnot. For lunch we had hamburgers and salad and they were great. The rest of the afternoon we just hung out. We then went to the valley and got ready to help cater Cami Parkers wedding. On the way down I talked to Margie DeBeikes about how unjust the State of California has been to her husband Daniel Matthew DeBeikes. A lot of magazines are sayng untrue stuff about him. It is too bad because he is a real good guy and would not try to hurt anybody. The thing is that they could not prove anything. Anyway, it was all accusations, just a bad situation. Cami’s wedding went pretty good, we just ate most of the fruits and vegetables for dinner. We did not get home until 11:00om (about 1:15 past my bedtime).
Wednesday May 4, 2005:This morning we had hard boiled eggs for breakfast. Not that glamorous of a breakfast, but hey, it was free. After breakfast we began raking the ball field. Craig and I were pulled off of raking to begin cutting pieces that we can use to fix the benches in the amphitheater. For lunch we had sandwiches and soup. After lunch Craig, Steve and I worked on the benches in the amphitheater. They got really damaged this year. For dinner we had the potato bar and it was fantastic. After dinner we went to the Huish and had a little karaoke party. It was fun times.
Tuesday May 3, 2005:This morning I was pretty tired. For breakfast I had a yogurt (we were suppose to have eggs and sausages, but everyone for got to put them out, I was kind of disappointed). After breakfast we worked on cleaning the family lodges. We also cleaned to Huish some. For lunch we had some awesome salad and carrot soup (It was fantastic). After lunch I moved some tables and then helped fix the benches in the Amphitheater again. We ran out of bracers so we then dug up the snow on Aspen lawn so that the sun would melt it faster. For dinner we had Spaghetti and it was so good. After dinner I went to the Harts to watch “The Amazing Race”, and let me tell ya, it was amazing
Monday May 2, 2005:This morning we had Bagels and cracked wheat (I think) for breakfast. After breakfast, John, Marty and I fixed fences around camp. It took most of the day. For lunch we had stroganoff and it was good. After lunch I continued to work on fences. For the last hour or so, we were working on the benches in the amphitheater. For dinner we had potatoes au gratin. It was pretty good. After dinner I pretty much chilled until 9:00 when I went over to the Harts to watch CSI: Miami.
Sunday May 1, 2005:This morning I slept in again because I did not have church until 2:00pm. When I finally got up I just chilled with Nate. I then went to church and afterwards headed back to Aspen Grove. It was kind of dead when I first got here so I cleaned my room. For the rest of the night I just chilled in the lobby.
Saturday April 30, 2005:I slept in until 11:00am and it felt great. Nate had to go to work at noon so I went off to run my errands. I went and paid for my storage unit and then bought some garments (I also forgot to pack them as well.) I then went and had a sandwich at Gandolfo’s. It was pretty good. I then watched a couple of movies in the theater. I watched Triple XXX: State of the Union (Lame) and Robots (Not really lame, but a kids movie). I then read some more of my Harry Potter book at Nate’s apartment and waited for him to come home. When he got back, we went to Red Robin. It was ok, I did not like my burger, so I did not eat it (I only took one bite). I server was so nice not to charge me for it. Nate and I then went to watch “The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy”. I really liked it. I thought it was very funny. We then went back to Nate’s place and went to sleep. That was three movies in one day….WOW!
Friday April 29, 2005:Well, the weekend is here. Today I worked on a ton of stuff so I am not going to even begin to tell you what I did. I did fix a lot of fences. For lunch we had leftovers. Even they were leftovers, they were still good. After work I hurried and showered, packed and went down to the valley to hang out with my brother Nate. We went and ate at Los Hermanos. I got the spicy pork chimichanga and it was really good. We then stopped off at our friend Cindy and Bethany’s new place. It looked pretty good. I forgot my sleeping stuff so Nate and I headed back up to Aspen Grove. We then decided to go to a dance in Salt Lake with our sister Liz. We stopped off at the store so I could get some stuff to wake me up. I got an energy drink and took two Excedrin. I was wired about 15 minutes later. At the dance I was surprised to see my other sister Rachael there. It was weird because she is married and has 3 kids. I guess she came for moral support for our younger sister Liz. Anyway, the dance was horrible. There was hardly anybody there and there were some weirdoes there, let me tell ya. It was good though to see Rachael and Liz. Nate and I then came home and crashed.
Thursday April 28, 2005:This morning our camp chef John made us omelets. Let me tell ya, they were great. After breakfast we did some fence repair and fixed some pavers. For lunch we had hamburgers and potato salad. The potato salad was not nearly as good as my moms, but it was good. After lunch we continued working on some pavers and then set up some tables for the youth conference that is coming in tomorrow and then took down some bunk beds in the family lodges and moved them. For dinner we had chicken pot pie and it was pretty good. I just chilled for the rest of the evening and then went and watched CSI with the Harts.
Wednesday April 27, 2005:Well, I went to bed last night at 10:00pm so I had plenty of sleep when 7:15am came around. This morning we did maintenance to the camp vehicles. I then went down to the valley with Bev so I could drive back up the small dump truck. It was kind of cool driving that beast up here. I then helped Maggie clean the cabins west of Snowshoe. For lunch we had chicken and salad. After lunch Dave and I scrubbed scuff marks off of the walls in Aspen Lodge and the family lodges. That pretty much took the entire afternoon. For dinner we had fish and rice. It was good.
Tuesday April 26, 2005:Well, I went to bed last night at 8:00pm and that began my night from hell. I woke up around 10:30pm and then started feeling very very sick. I was throwing up, feeling sick, and having horrible dreams. When I finally got up at 7:15am, I was feeling a little better, but not much. This morning DH and I helped Jim shovel out the kiddy pool so that a contractor could come and get a bid on fixing it. After that I helped Maggie, John, Chris, and Evelyn scrape and power spray the lodges. While I was scrubbing the trim around the second level window, my ladder came out from under me and I fell to the ground. Everyone made a big deal of this, but I didn’t get hurt. I only had a few scratches on my legs. For lunch we had stew and bread bowls. After lunch we continued our work on the family lodges. Maggie and I got off work early because we worked extra hours yesterday. Nathan then came and picked me up and we went to Costa Azul. We then went to the Verizon Wireless store in the mall to look at getting a phone for my dad. We then just hung out at his place for the rest of the night. He then drove me back to Aspen. I am not as sore today as I was yesterday.
Monday April 25, 2005:Ok, so today I started May Crew at Aspen Grove, and let me tell ya, I am very tired. I have not felt this way since my mission. I am a little home sick and a very sore and exhausted. I miss hanging out with my pals Jared and Jason and I don’t want to be here right now (this is me talking after a long hard day of May Crew). This morning we had our orientation meeting to welcome all the new people and then showed them around camp. I then went with Jim to help him dig out some snow out of the pool. I was shoveling all morning. I then went to go help set up lunch. After lunch, Maggie and I had to do all the dishes (it was our turn). I then got a rake and started raking all off the grass at Aspen Grove. The snow had killed and flattened a lot of grass. To make things worse, voles were eating up the grass and made it look really bad. So I was given the task to “rake up” all of the grass so it would be able to grow back when we get warmer weather. Speaking of weather; there was a ton of snow up here this past winter, so there is a lot of snow damage. I hope I don’t die before the end of May Crew (I sure feel like it).
Sunday March 27, 2005:Happy Easter everyone! Today was a pretty good day. I woke up and went to church this morning. I was wide awake when I got there, but got really tired half way through sacrament meeting. After church, Jared, Jason and I went to Jason’s brothers (Dennis) and his wife's place. While we were there we watched “The Whole Nine Yards” and ate some fantastic barbeque chicken (Props to you Dennis). Dennis’ wife Calena had her cousin Crystal come over. She was really cool and funny (not to mention very fine!) Anywho, we hung out till about 9pm when we decided it was time for us to come home. Later in the evening, I did some accounting homework and just chilled. That was it for me.
Saturday March 26, 2005:This morning Jared came into my room and proceeded to wake me up even though I was very tired. I really wanted to sleep more, but he was very persistent. After I got ready, Jared, Jason and I headed to Salt Lake City so that Jared could go on his lunch date with Megan (Elizabeth’s sister). Jason and I then took TRAX to downtown Salt Lake and we ate lunch at Subway. It has been a while since I had the delicious Spicy Italian. It was really good. Afterwards we met up with Jared and the three of us went to the Gateway Mall and met up with Jared’s sister Allison and we watched “Guess Who”. It was a pretty funny movie. We then went to the LDS church history museum and spent a couple hours there. Afterwards we came home and ordered pizza and watched “A Walk to Remember.” Nate came over later in the evening and hung out as well.
Friday March 25, 2005:Well, I did absolutely nothing today. I woke up around 1pm (I know a slacker) and pretty much sat around the apartment and ate some food and played video games. In the evening I went to TGIFridays with Jared, Jason, Allison (Jared’s sister) and some of Allison’s friends (Tiffany and Faith). We then came back to our apartment and just talked the evening away. Like I said, I did nothing today…I feel so lethargic.
Thursday March 24, 2005:I tried to go to all of my classes today but my 9:30am Real Estate class was too early and so I slept right though it. I did go to the rest of my classes and I took a midterm in my Investments class. It was a really tough one. After the test I was pleased to hear that almost everyone in my class had just as hard a time taking the test as me. Since the test is graded on a curve, it offers me some relief. Later on Jared, Jason, Nathan, Jeremiah, Kelly and I went to Bleachers Sports Grill for dinner. It was ok food, but it was uncomfortable being there. I don’t know, seemed like eating in a dugout. To keep the sports theme going, Jared, Nathan and I went to the BYU vs. Utah baseball game. It was pretty fun. BYU won 6-5. Afterwards we went to Wal-Mart so I could buy Shanghai Noon, A Knights Tale and some more Harry Potter books.
Wednesday March 23, 2005:Well, today I did nothing. I had my first class today at 2:00pm and you would think that I would be able to make it to a class that starts so late in the afternoon. But it was raining outside and it was my accounting class so it was easy to talk myself out of going. By the way, what is up with this cold wet weather anyway? Jared Duane McKenzie (aka Pun-jab), Jason Jerome Miller (aka String) and I went to Panda Express for lunch. It was really good. We then came home and played Ghost Recon 2 and found some cheats that made us invincible. We then went to Costco to buy some mozzarella sticks and about 5 gallons of oil for the fryer. I think we are getting fat. I spent the rest of the night eating mozzarella sticks, drinking Dr. Pepper and doing some homework (a very productive day). There is only a few weeks of school left and I have mixed feelings. I want it to end because I hate school right now and I don’t want it to end because that means saying goodbye to Jared and Jason. I will also miss BYU, it has been a great school and Provo has been good to me. I better focus on “living it up” these last few weeks while still doing just enough work to graduate.
Monday March 21, 2005:Today I found out that I got a better score on my accounting test than I had previously thought. I took the test last Wednesday and I got a 68% on it. In class today my professor explained that the high on the test was 88% so they were going to raise everyone’s score. Even when they raised everyone’s score by 12%, the average on the test increased from 65% to 77%. This is still too low for the business school average of 87%, so they are going to raise everyone’s score about 22%. That means I got a 90% on the test. 90% is much better than 68%. I only had that one accounting class today and then I came home, dropped off my books and donated plasma. Later in the evening, Jared and I went to dinner at the Saigon Noodle House. It is the third time I have been there in less than a week.
Saturday March 19, 2005: So, this morning I went to the orientation for summer work at Aspen Grove. In order to make it up there by 8:00am I had to get up at 6:00am (yes...that is am, meaning in the morning). Anyone who knows me knows that I am not a morning person and how much I hate getting up before noon. I gave Kip, Nikki and their friend Rachel a ride and it was good times remembering the fun times last summer. Anyway, the orientation was good and it looks as though there are going to be plenty of cool people to work with this summer. I was so excited that I came home and took a 3 hour nap.
Friday March 18, 2005:Well, I just got done interviewing with KB homes in Las Vegas. They seem like a really cool company to work for. The interviewer (Ritchie) was really outgoing and very personable. My decision to work at Aspen Grove this summer has made it very difficult to find a job upon graduation. However, Ritchie was very optimistic in the possibility of me landing a job at KB homes when I am done at Aspen. I hope so. Well, I am going to go take my finance test in about 20 minutes and I don’t know what to expect from it. Hopefully it will not kill me like my accounting test did Wednesday.
Wednesday March 16, 2005:k, can I say how much I love the Dentist? I had to get a filling put in and the dentist was drilling very close to the nerve in my tooth. I was jumping like crazy. I guess that is what I get for eating too much Ice Cream. Speaking of ice cream; has anybody ever had that Girl Scout cookie ice cream? It is pretty good. Well I hope this site works out good, I will try using it for a while instead of waynelinford.com. Also, if anybody wants a gmail email address, I got plenty of invitations. Well, I need to get studying for another test I am sure I am going to fail.
Tuesday March 15, 2005:Last night my roommates and I did something incredibly stupid; we dyed our hair blond. Well, my roommate’s hair went blind, mine when white; white like an old man. To top things off, it made my head blister and burn like crazy. I have all of these scabs and sores on my scalp right now. We were up until around 4am so I slept in pretty late. I ended up only going to my finance class and skipping the rest. I am so burned out on school right now.
